Black tea Pekoe India (Assam)
Pekoe India (Assam) — black tea with a deep infusion, made from whole leaves without tips. Rich taste, harmonious with milk. Buy at MY TEA.
Pekoe India is a black tea from the Assam region, made in the classic Pekoe style. The variety is distinguished by a dense, uniform leaf without tips, which provides a deep, rich infusion with a characteristic tartness and soft spicy notes. The tea is ideal for everyday use or paired with milk in the British style.
The taste is deep, rich, with a malty body and a light woody astringency. The aroma is expressive, warm, with hints of spices. The infusion is dark red, dense and shiny.
What is Pekoe?
"Pekoe" is a designation of the degree of twisting and size of the tea leaf. Unlike FOP or TGFOP, Pekoe tea does not have tips, but the leaf is denser, darker, and produces a more concentrated infusion. This tea tastes perfect with milk, honey, or lemon, and also keeps well.
