Shen Pu-erh "Bu Lang Feng Qing" is a 357g green pancake made from leaves harvested in the mountainous region of Bulanshan (布朗山), one of the most prestigious terroirs in Yunnan Province. The name of the tea means "Charm of Bulang" or "Mood of the Bulan Mountains", and accurately conveys the spirit of the local shen - wild, strong, energetic.
Bulanshan is known for its high polyphenol content in the leaves, giving the tea a powerful astringency and bitterness at the start, but also a sweet, honeyed aftertaste that lasts. This is a shen for those who value strength, energy and natural bitterness without compromise.
The infusion is golden-amber, clean. The taste is rich, with bright bitterness, smoke, minerals, wood and spices. The aftertaste is long, honey-tart. The aroma is grassy, fresh, with a touch of stone and wild bark.
