Shen Puerh Ba Ji Cha (八级茶) is a green (unfermented) puerh made from mature, large grade eight tea leaves, providing a deep flavor, good brewing stability, and a balance of a light bitter body and a sweet aftertaste.
This tea is often used as an everyday sheng, due to its accessible yet rich profile. Ba Ji (grade 8) refers to the Chinese grading system - the leaves are older and larger than the higher grades, but this is what gives the infusion a mature, "earthy" depth.
The infusion is transparent, golden-amber. The taste is rich, with grassy, honey-cinnamon notes and a mild bitterness. The aroma is mountain, with hints of dry leaves, bark, wildflowers and smoked meat.
