Black tea Kenya Itumbe
Kenya Itumbe is a powerful black tea from western Kenya. It has a rich, tart flavor, a bready-malty aroma, and a dark amber infusion. Perfect for morning tea. High in caffeine.
Kenya Itumbe is a high-quality black tea from the small Itumbe tea factory in the Kisi region of western Kenya. It is made from large-leaf Kenyan Camellia sinensis var. assamica, grown at an altitude of over 1800 m above sea level. Due to the climate and high-altitude cultivation, the tea has a pronounced astringency, velvety taste and a deep, malty aftertaste.
The infusion is rich amber in color. The taste is intense, slightly bready, with a light smoky note. The tea is perfect for both classic morning tea drinking and for creating original blends.
Kenyan tea is a new voice in the tea world
Although Kenya only began actively growing tea in the 20th century, it quickly became one of the world's largest exporters of black tea. The Itumbe region is renowned for its small-batch quality - not mass-market, but limited batches with a distinct character. Kenyan black teas, particularly from Kisi, have gained international recognition for their balance of tartness, powerful aromas and long aftertaste.
