Shen Pu'er "稀有紫条茶" is a rare green Pu'er made from purple tea leaves (紫条茶), a variety that contains high levels of anthocyanins. This 330g pancake is made at Fenghuang Shengtai (凤凰生态茶厂) in Yunnan Province, China.
Purple Shen is an unusual and collectible type of Pu-erh, which is distinguished by a mild fruity taste, slight tartness, high antioxidant content and a pleasant, refined aroma. The tea raw material has a purple-brown hue due to natural pigments - anthocyanins.
The infusion is golden pink or amber. The taste is soft, fruity-berry, with notes of plum, wild berries and herbs. The aroma is sweet, floral-fruity, with a trace of wild vegetation. How to brew purple shen puerh:
Gongfu method:
- 5–6 g of tea per 100 ml
- Water temperature — 90–95°C

European method:
- 1 tsp. tea per 300–350 ml
- Infuse for 3–4 minutes at a temperature of 90–95°C.
- Can be re-brewed 2–3 times
