Shen Pu'er 2002 from Hua Yuan Tea Factory (花园茶厂) is a classic aged green pu'er in the form of a tightly pressed briquette weighing 250 g. Produced as part of the Yunnan High Quality Agriculture Development Center project, this pu'er is certified organic (marked with a green sign on the wrapper).

Over 20 years of aging, the tea has completely transformed: the bitterness has been smoothed out, and camphor, woody, honey, and mineral nuances have appeared. This is a premium version of mature Shen Pu'er for those who appreciate stable depth and a noble aftertaste.

The infusion is a deep amber brown. The taste is round, woody, with notes of bark, dried fruit, honey and stone. The aroma is old wood, a quiet hideaway, book dust. The aftertaste is long, soft, warming. A great tea for leisurely evenings, meditation or a festive brew.

How to brew a 2002 briquette:

Gongfu method:

1. 5–6 g per 100 ml of gaiwan
2. Water temperature — 95–100°C
3. Rinse with the first flush for 2–3 seconds
4. Short pours 10–15 seconds, up to 10–12 brews

European method:

1. 1 hour l. for 300–350 ml of water
2. Infuse for 3–5 min at 95°C
3. Can be re-brewed 2–3 times
