Shu Puerh Lao Ban Zhang is a rare and exquisite dark tea made from the leaves of old (gu shu) tea trees from the legendary village of Lao Ban Zhang, located in Bulanshan County, Yunnan Province. It is one of the most highly prized and high-end puerhs among gourmets and collectors.
The raw materials for this Shu Puerh are collected from old trees over 100 years old, growing wild or semi-wild. Thanks to the powerful roots and slow growth, the leaf has a high concentration of minerals, and the taste is voluminous, deep, with a multi-layered aftertaste.
The infusion is dark ruby, shiny. The taste is dense, earthy, with notes of bark, leather, dark chocolate, dried fruits. The aftertaste is long, slightly tart, noble. The effect of "cha qi" - internal thermal energy is palpable.
