Who is the Iron Goddess of Mercy?

The name Tie Guan Yin translates as “Iron Goddess of Mercy” and is linked to the legend of the bodhisattva Guanyin — the embodiment of compassion and kindness in Chinese Buddhism. According to legend, a poor farmer from Fujian province cared daily for an abandoned Guanyin temple. One day, the goddess appeared to him in a dream and revealed a place where he discovered a tea bush of extraordinary strength and fragrance. From that bush began the story of the famous Tie Guan Yin oolong, which became a symbol of harmony, peace, and gratitude.
History & Character of the Tea

The prefix Qing Xiang (清香) means “pure, transparent aroma.” During production, a gentle warming of the tea leaf is used, which preserves the natural bouquet and the emerald color of the rolled leaves. This style is considered a classic choice among connoisseurs of light and fresh oolongs that bring balance and inspiration.
