Da Hong Pao, or Big Red Robe, is the most famous rock oolong (Yan Cha) from the Wushan Mountains in Fujian. This tea is known for its deep, rich flavor, combining mineral, smoky, woody and malty notes. Legend has it that this tea was used to treat the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, after which the bushes were covered with a red robe as a sign of gratitude. Today, Da Hong Pao is considered the embodiment of strength, depth and energy in Chinese tea.
The taste is rich, enveloping, with notes of bark, spices, dark chocolate, baked bread and minerals. The aroma is thick, burnt, slightly caramel. The infusion is dark amber, dense.

How to brew Da Hong Pao?
Gongfu Cha:
- 5–6 g per 100 ml of water
